Destinations covered: Delhi - Jaipur - Agra - Bharatpur - Fathepur Sikri - Varanasi (Bénarès) - Bodhgaya. Visit great attractions including 5 sites of the UNESCO World Heritage Humayun´s Tomb, Qutub Minar and the Red Fort in Delhi, the Taj Mahal in Agra and Fatehpur Sikri. Jaipur: The beauty of the Fort can be enjoyed royally with an elephant ride. Varanasi Bénarès: Take a boat cruise on the Ganges through the gaths (the Indian baths). You can book a 8 nights accommodation in a hotel of your choosing. Plenty of time at your own leisure. Travel with a private car of your choosing and with an english-speaking driver.
Day 1: Arrival in Delhi
On arrival you will be received by our representative and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2: Delhi City Tour(Old and New Delhi)
Morning tour of Delhi visiting Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana - the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, Jama Masjid and drive past Red Fort and Chandni Chowk. Afternoon visit Qutub Minar built by Qutub-ud-Din Aibek in 1199, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate (War Memorial Arch) Lakshminarayan Temple - a modern Hindu Temple. Also drive past President's House, Parliament House, Government Secretariat Buildings and Connaught Place shopping centre (more details see One day trip in Delhi).
Day 3: Delhi to Jaipur
Morning drive to Jaipur. On arrial check in at hotel. Afternoon free.
Day 4: Jaipur City Tour
After breakfast, visit Amber Fort located 12 kilometers from Jaipur. The magnificent Amber Fort is a fine blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture. Return to Jaipur and visit the City Palace, situated in the heart of Jaipur's old city. The palace is a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. It houses a Seven storied Chandra Mahal in the centre. Also visit Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), Jaipur's most distinctive landmark. Built in 1799, this is an amazing example of Rajput architecture.
Day 5: Jaipur to Agra on the way Bharatpur and Fatehpur Sikri
Drive to Agra enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri enroute. Fatehpur Sikri is 40 kms from Agra and built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal and other Palaces.
Day 6: Agra City Tour. Then over night Train or car for Varanasi
Morning city tour of Agra includes the Taj Mahal, Red Fort and the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daula. Later in the evening check out of the hotel and transfer to Tundla Railway station for overnight train to Varanasi. Overnight will be on train to Varanasi.
Day 7: Varanasi City Tour
Early morning train reaches Varanasi and you are transferred to the hotel. The afternoon half-day city tour of Varanasi includes a visit to Benaras Hindu University, Bharat Mata Temple, Vishwanath Temple etc. Overnight stay at the hotel in Varanasi.
Day 8: Varanasi Bodhgaya
Get a real feeling of Varanasi the gate to Moksha, by early morning boat ride on River Ganges. Later in the morning you are driven to Bodhgaya, visiting Sarnath on the way. Arrival at Bodhgaya follows check-in at the hotel.
Day 9: Bodhgaya to Delhi
Departure/transfer to International Airport to take flight for onward journey.
